How Croft + Spire Was Born
In 1980, Keith Kloter and his family started a small family business called Kloter Farms. They sold hay and shavings and cared for horses and ponies. But a desire to drive the horses led Keith on a search for a smoother driving vehicle. The search resulted in a two-wheeled cart with a unique suspension and an expansion of the farm into the cart and harness business.
Setting up shop in a small shed, they found some interest in the harnesses and carts, but people were more excited about the shed where the tack was stored! Keith partnered with his then-teenage son, Jason, and began selling sheds, gazebos, and children’s swing sets. As the family and the business grew, Keith’s sons-in-law, Peter Welti and Dave Schneider, joined the team.
In the early 1990s, an idea to open a store with gifts, home décor, and fine furniture was born. Kloter Farms Country Store was an immediate success. Customers fell in love with the quality of the furniture and personal service. As their reputation grew, so did requests for the furniture to be delivered nationwide. That’s when the idea for Croft + Spire began to take shape. Croft + Spire was borne from a sense of personal commitment to our customers and their acquaintances.
Today, Keith enjoys retirement and his hobby-turned-business of buying and selling antique cars and trucks. Kloter Farms is still family-owned and operated, led by Pete, Dave, and Jason.

Our sales team does not work on commission for a few reasons:
