Our Craftsmanship Standards

The furniture designers at Croft + Spire have carefully vetted the furniture makers we partner with to provide you with the finest in handcrafted, American-made furniture.

The Amish and Mennonite master craftsmen working in these wood shops across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania share our passion for crafting heirloom-quality hardwood furniture that will stand the test of time.

Here are 5 ways we ensure our products meet the rigorous quality standards we’ve set for ourselves.

Our founders and designers collaborate with our woodworking shops to create distinctive designs and products exclusive to Croft + Spire. Whether it is a minor tweak to a style or a complete redesign of a collection, our designers produce unique furniture that our customers love.

We set high standards for the materials and construction techniques that go into building your furniture because we believe you deserve the best value for your money. We work closely with our shops to be sure they share and adhere to the same vision and standards for the quality and integrity that we value.

Many of our products come standard with:

  • Dovetailed solid wood drawer boxes (adds strength)
  • Under-mount soft-close drawer slides (a touch of elegance)
  • Mortise and tenon joinery (for unsurpassed durability)
  • Triple tongue & grooved corner braces (prevent chair wobbling, [pictured at left])

Solid wood furniture is what we build.  We never use particleboard.

Some characterize our finishing process as “painstaking.”

We believe anything less than that isn’t good enough. Furniture finishing is the crowning touch of a masterpiece — it takes time and attention to detail to get it right.

We insist on nothing but the finest in consistency and quality, whether it’s a hand-planed table, distressed chair, glazed dresser, or a one-of-a-kind finish.

Our wood shop partners and delivery teams inspect each piece of furniture prior to delivery to ensure that our construction and finishing standards are upheld.

Your new furniture is inspected four times in the following order:

  1. After the furniture is built, but before it leaves the shop (by the wood shop team).
  2. Before the delivery team loads it into the truck (by Croft + Spire team).
  3. Upon arrival at the Croft + Spire warehouse. (pictured on left).
  4. When it is delivered and set up in your home (by you and the Croft + Spire team)

We get letters and emails almost every day praising our prompt and courteous delivery teams. They take furniture delivery and customer service seriously.

You took the time and effort to build and order furniture that’s perfect for your home. It should be delivered on time and in perfect condition.

Your new furniture comes to you on vehicles dedicated for furniture deliveries. Each piece is blanket-wrapped and it is carried into your home by our expert personnel (with the white-glove delivery option). A final inspection of the furniture takes place with you and our delivery team before they leave to ensure that your new furniture is exactly how you envisioned it.
